For a long time, if you lived in Rathdrum you planned your summer around one weekend. Taste of Rathdrum has grown into a second gravitational pull three weekends after Rathdrum Days, and it now overlaps with a real tournament calendar at Farragut. The Aug 8 anchor at Majestic Park
Taste of Rathdrum lands at Majestic Park on Saturday, August 8, 2026, running from noon until 9:30 p.m. Admission is free, all ages, and the city has confirmed the full run-of-show at 5400 W Majestic Ave.

The car show is hosted by North Idaho Rat Rods & Kustoms and it runs inside the festival footprint, not adjacent to it. Registration for owners is open from noon to 5:00 p.m., the entry fee is $20, and awards happen on the lot at 5:30 p.m., which times cleanly into the last stretch of daylight before the headline set. Fifteen minutes east, Farragut's tournament block
The second thing that has changed about August is Farragut State Park. Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation lists a run of scheduled closures and events on the park's five disc golf courses and its cross country trails that begins the same day as Taste of Rathdrum and continues into the middle of September. Two useful notes for residents. The Little Black Bear and Northstar courses are closed to walk-up play during Mulligan Madness on Aug 8. The Timberlake XC Invite on Sept 11–12 uses the trails on the north side of the park, and runners can preview the course on the 11th after 2:00 p.m. before the main race on the 12th. The state park day-use fee applies whether you are spectating or playing, $7 for Idaho residents or $14 for non-residents, per the Idaho State Parks fee schedule on the Farragut park page.
Where to land before or after

Rathdrum's late summer used to be a single weekend followed by a slow August. That is nine weekend days of programmed activity inside the Rathdrum–Athol corridor over a nine-week span.
The residents who have been here fifteen years describe this as a change of tempo, not a change of character. The old anchor is intact. The rest of the season used to be quiet and now is not.
A practical read on that: if you have out-of-town family coming for a summer visit, the window to give them a real Saturday has widened. A few things to keep in mind on the day
Majestic Park parking fills early on festival Saturdays. The Chamber's guidance for Rathdrum Days was to arrive before the parade start, and the same logic applies for Taste of Rathdrum given the noon opening and the car show registration window that runs through 5:00 p.m. Highway 41 north of town moves slower than usual because of the Farragut traffic heading toward Athol, so the shortcut through downtown on Main is often faster if you are coming from the south end of the lake district.
Bring a camp chair. The city's own festival guidance frames it that way, and the main stage sightlines are better from the grass than from the vendor row.
